• Hendrickson debuts automatic tire- inflation system for trailers -
Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems has unveiled several new products, including the TireMaax Pro automatic tire inflation systems for trailers. The company has also released a lighter-weight trailer suspension system and a new bumper guard for International ProStar tractors

• FTR reports improved truck orders for August -
Preliminary data for August indicates an improvement in Class 8 truck total net orders, according to the latest numbers from FTR Associates. According to FTR, orders for all major North American OEMs came in at 12,337 units, an 8.3% increase over July’s net orders and 16.8% better than August 2009. The orders closely match the six-month average of 13,000 units


• Mack integrates MVASIST, OneCall support network -
Mack Trucks has integrated its MVASIST and OneCall Complete Care customer support network into a real-time system that will expedite repairs and maximize uptime, the company said. MVASIST, developed in cooperation with Decisiv, increases the efficiency of the service process by pulling together historically separate silos of information and placing them within a single web portal


• State DOTs prep for Hurricane Earl -
The first storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, the powerful Category 4 Earl is churning its way toward the East Coast, where it is expected to first slam into North Carolina’s Outer banks barrier islands. From there, Earl is currently expected to track north-northeast to reach New England by tomorrow night


• Schneider to sell freight-forwarding unit -
Schneider Logistics is selling off its freight-forwarding and customs-house brokerage business in the U.S. and China to Norbert Dentressangle, a European transportation firm based in Lyon, France


• Pricing set for GM's CNG vans -
A fully integrated and dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) option, available this fall for Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans, will be priced at $15,910 MSRP, General Motors announced this week


• Docking station option for Toughbook 31 -
A new in-vehicle computer docking station is now available for the Panasonic Toughbook 31. The MAG 31 docking station from Gamber-Johnson is rugged platform with a front-facing docking mechanism
