Wind's Bio

I am 26 years old and I love music. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and love it out here. I really enjoy nature, and great quality food. Thinking about starting a career in trucking, and that is how I found myself here, but I just need to find the right answers so I can make my next move in life!

Off The Record App

Being in the wrong lane. Lol. It’s $238 plus 1 point on my record if I plea guilty. With my lawyer fighting it off for me I can either get it dismissed or lowered in offense so it doesn’t go on my record as a point… don’t want my insurance going up for the next 3 years. The lawyer fee was $220 half now half next month. I communicate with him through the Off The Record app and it has good reviews. I’ll come back on a few months when case is solved with an update and full review… was just hoping someone here knew about it.

Never heard of it. What did you get a ticket for?

Off The Record App

There’s this app called off the record and you pay a fee to a lawyer to appear in court for you and fight your ticket off. They claim to have a really high success rate in either dismissing the charge or lowering it to something else so a point doesn’t go on your record. If they can’t they apparently give you a refund or partial refund. Has anyone ever used this app for a ticket their got while trucking does it work for CDL drivers? App seems legit. I’ve already paid my lawyer through the app to fight the charge. Half now half next month. Not sure what’s going to happen but there’s a lot of great reviews on the app …. Seen some comments on YouTube stating it doesn’t work well for cdl holders but I don’t see why it wouldn’t? …. Any thoughts anyone?

Reefer trailer

Had a question. My reefer trailer light was green when I first turned it on, then I changed the set point from 30 to 32 degrees, and now the light that was green turned yellow. A yellow square of lights. Anyone know what this means or how to fix it...should I be worried? The reefer is running though

Swift Idle

Regen is the process of cleaning out the particulate filter portion of the emissions system, to clean it out the engine has to idle high and increases the exhaust temp bringing the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) up to around 1000 degrees to burn off the particles that would otherwise clog it.

My regen light was on. I did a parked regen. The regen light went away. But now, a solid yellow engine light, without CHECK or Stop in it, came on. Do you have any idea what this means or what happened?

2017 freightliner problems

My 2017 freightliner had the malfunction indicator light (engine light that doesn't say check engine on it), which in the manual indicates an emissions related fault.

I notified road assist and they said just keep an eye on it since nothing seemed wrong. The light went off after a day or two and hasn't come back.

I'm still getting used to the auto. It's ok but I prefer the manual. I read in the manual how to activate the performance mode, but I think prime has it turned off on the company trucks. It is annoying when you need to do a speedy takeoff, like busy crosstraffic that doesn't stop. Manual shifts help a little bit, but not nearly as quick as I could take off with the 10 speed.

I'm having this issue right now. I just did a parked regen. The light went off but now the engine light came on. It's just a solid yellow engine light with no check in it. What should I Do? What does it mean?

Swift Idle

double-quotes-start.png

I idle all I want to stay comfortable. Get messages saying to Idle less, but make sure to stay comfortable for proper rest. Hardly get that message either. Just keep an eye on the dash when you idle when on a 34 because you will probably need a regen after sitting with the truck running so much, that usually happens for me.

What's a regen ? Sorry I'm new. First Week on the job.

Swift Idle

Question. If I was on my 34 hour reset, and staying in my truck, could I idle for the entire day and a half? Is there a swift rule against doing this? Would I get in trouble or even fired? Any official answers would be best! Can't seem to find anything on the swift portal or any info online. It's pretty hot right now. Do they expect us to hang out in the truck stop drivers lounge or Something?
