Trucktographer's dad

Just gonna tag this onto his thread.

I'm signed up for the Swift Mentor Class this Thursday. This way, once he gets his CDL I can take him on my truck for his 200+ hours behind the wheel as a trainee.

Should be fun.

My Millis Transfer Training in Burleson, Texas.

Wow that's amazing there only two of you on the course, I think you may have made History( I haven't seen a truck school course with a small class - in the year I've been looking at schools) but for sure the best way to learn - Congrats on passing and getting out on the Road.

Beginning my truck driving career

Yeah, I think everybody forgets that flipper switch at least once or a few times when first learning to shift confused.gif

LOL indeed I know I have -there is just so much going on at times.

Hrynn- Really awesome you are posting your adventure - Awesome you were driving on the first day by yourself

One of my ex employers told me one day after a major stuff up ( to me it was & I was pretty upset with myself ) was " Don you're not the first person to do it and you're not the last person" I was surprised by the comment ( he's a lovely old man) but it helped me to keep it in perspective - Life's a journey enjoy the ride.

Cheers Don

Posting Prime Week 1 Orientation

They do a roll call to see who is there ( don't miss any roll calls ). Missing roll call is like being late for a delivery.

Great tip Thanks for sharing

Wow what a marathon bus ride

Look forward to your new posts

Hi Guys Maybe I'm crazy But I like the Challenge of Driving in the US & Canada But I'm from New Zealand

"

Hey Don, most truck stops here in the states seem like a United Nations meeting . . . I'm not sure about the legalities of it (in fact, I'm like Sgt Schultz: "I KNOW NUTTINGG" - you might have to be an American baby-boomer to get that reference). . . anyhow, most any company seems like they will hire anyone who is legal and your country of origin is not very important . . . I hear all sorts of languages being spoken (just not Auzzi or Kiwi - youz guyz DO speak English of sorts, right?) rofl-3.gif

So come on over, do what it takes to get legal and join the fraternity (and sorority) . . . you'll find the West much more to your liking, I'll venture to guess (and not just because I'm a western man - but it does help) . . . Good Luck,

Jopa

Thanks Jopa

I got a bit of stuff to organise many around living costs while training/ residency (I think the Company can help with this from what I've seen from other kiwi's who made it) - March is the month I have in mind at the moment. I'm lucky enough to have some trucker friends in the US (fb/yt) that I hope to catch up with Truckin' is firmly in the blood

Cheers

Don
