I feel I'm being bullied by my dispatcher

I arrived to the customer and was informed that I would have to break down the pallets and manually bring product to the doors of a 53"foot trailer. The customer didn't have a hand truck, a dolly or any equipment for unloading. I politely dismiss myself from the customer and made contact via Qualcomm that I refuse to unload the trailer. I was rudely contacted via phone by my dispatcher stated to me ( If I Did Not Unload, he would be sending another driver to pick me up and take me back to the terminal) this statement made me feel that I was fired. I was at a unpleasant location (A Prison). I was nervous and confused. I left the customer because of my dispatcher statement. I droved the truck and trailer to the nearest terminal and made contact with the HR Department. I felt bullied. I'm a female driver that's been driving for 2 years. I never have had to unload a trailer before with this company. I have no experience using any unloading equipment. Could anyone tell me, do you feel that I was wrong?

Is it bad that I don't care about getting a male trainer? Am I missing something?

double-quotes-end.png

No, it's not bad. Some companies do not assign male trainer's with females. Averitt Express does, I will have a male trainer.

So, I'm done with orientation. My trainer will pick me up Monday morning. I'm loving what Averitt Express has to offer.

I need help finding a trucking job.

Hello all, I just graduated from truck driving school on June 9, 2015. Recruiters was calling me all while I was in school. I'm just calling back to let them know I'm finished with school. It's hard trying to find a company ready to send me out like tomorrow, because there's no lady drivers to train me. I will have to wait 2 weeks or more and with no promise date. I need to know what companies out there get GIRLS rolling out the gate with good training.

Thank you guys for your input. I got a call on Monday to inform me that a slot opened and to start orientation and training Monday June 22, 2015 @ Averitt Express. Prayers goes up, blessings come down. I Thank God for this Blessing, because this was my 1st choice. I will continue posting to let you guys know how things are going.

Thank you, guess I have to wait on a call from 1 of the company's I applied at.

Here's a goal for you, TGK: get hired, then 8-12 months of experience later, step forward and you be the female trainer, so another lady Trucker won't have to wait so long - pay it forward!

Good tip,

Thank you,
