Hopefully tomorrow...

I was just venting. I wasn't looking for a slap down and don't feel I deserved that. Twice. I take your advice very seriously and value it a lot.

I never said a lot of the things you said I did. But that's ok. And while it looks like I contradicted myself-I didn't include a lot of the details originally just because it didn't matter much. I never said I was the best. I never said I knew it all. I've been asking for help every step of the way-and using the advice the best I can. Not every situation is as plain is seems.

Anyway, I got a new DDM today and she explained what was going on and asked me to sit tight. They are working out some issues. Simple. That's all I was looking for was some guidance instead of being ignored. Sorry if that seems like I'm asking too much. I feel better now that I understand what is going on.

I get all that. And on Saturday-I didn't say ANYTHING to the mentor about what he said to me. I had a cheerful disposition thru out. When he said that he would only tell me something once and that if he had to say it again, we'd have a problem - I said well I'm pretty quick but I might need help here and there. He was complaining that all of my papers were faded and that I didn't have darker copies. I had what I was given. Internally, I was having some misgivings-but I never said I didn't want to be with him-he discarded me. I was extremely excited to be where I was and willing to do whatever it took to be successful.

And guys-I was ranting about what I felt. I get that this is trucking. But, with all due respect Brett-you made a lot of assumptions in your reply that just are not true. I'm not the only one that has been having difficulty getting assigned a Mentor. I think they just have too many students for this small terminal here. I just wish they'd say that. I appreciate all the feedback guys. Hopefully we get something going soon.

:)

My Bf Has A Problem

Thinking out loud-as First seat-once I realized that 2nd seat damaged the equipment and didn't report it via the appropriate macro immediately-I should have done so. It should have been reported by someone as soon as it happened. Pictures taken, statements taken, etc. CRE needs all that to submit to the insurance company.

Now I'm guessing that if the damage was minor and procedures followed, it would have ended there?

I really.. just want to... well.. complain a little..

So the guy that called me on Monday to match me up to a Mentor and said he would call back either Monday or Tuesday. Did not. So I called this morning at 8:30. Got someone else who said they would send him a message (and his supervisor) to let them know to call me. Nothing. I called again at 12:50, got him on the phone. He acted like he didn't know who I was. Said to give him an hour and he would call back. He did not. I called at 4:15 today. He said 'oh yea, I sent an email, let me check on that... hold on a sec'... I waited about 15 secs hearing him punching keys, and got disconnected. I called back a few minutes later and got 'please wait, we will be right with you. I hung up. I called back after I got home and got the 'please wait, we will be right with you'... I waited. After 15 minutes someone else answered. I told him What was up, gave him my name and number, and he said 'I'll tell him to call you'. Of course nothing now...

My friend who was having issues getting a Mentor assigned got one today and is meeting her tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow will be 1 week that I've been messing around with getting this all sorted out. 2 days of the previous Mentor rescheduling, and now all of this after he and I didn't work out. I'm wondering now if the Mentor said something when we met on Saturday that is causing all of this.

I mean really-WTF.. I need to start making money. Sitting on my butt is not working anymore. The total lack of professionalism was ok at first. Now it's beyond that.

So, the rant is over. Tomorrow I'll go over his head I guess.

I only mentioned drones because they are semi-autonomous flying machines that are forcing legislation. Not that they might be related to trucking at all. :)

Self driving cars will be here sooner rather then later. Uber is already leading the charge for self driving vehicles very aggressively. They hate having to deal with their drivers (I'm an Uber driver) and by deal with I mean pay. Their goal is to make it cheaper and easier to use an Uber to get around then owning a car. In many places it already is. Now make that an electric autonomous vehicle and things start to get really interesting. They want it to be cheaper to use an Uber then it is to ride the bus. And they have over $40bn worth of backing to get them there. Google is doing it. Apple is doing it. All the major car makers are investing in autonomous vehicles. They will work without everyone being on the same system-no doubt about it. I heard on the radio yesterday that the explosion of drones is forcing governments to look at legislation around not only drones but also autonomous vehicles. CA, FL and TX already have some legislation on the books. It's coming. The logistics of self driving trucks are far more involved then a car of course. But I'm sure every single trucking company out there would love to be able to operate without drivers.

In Ocala it ends on Thursday... I went out and drove for Uber today to try to make some $$ and I'll call my DDM (driver development mgr) tomorrow. At least tell me I'll be in a truck on Thursday. I need something to go on.

A well-oiled Intersection?

I think that!

LOL

I think that intersection is in China. :)
