Allan Burden's Bio

Well, I'm just a regular dude that enjoys life. I love my family and cling tightly to my values and beliefs. As far as my professional life is concerned, I've always had a desire to go trucking, just have not taken that leap...until now. After 7 years of being a law enforcement officer and a few also spent as a pastor, I'm hanging up my badge. I need a change. It's 2013 and I'm going truckin'.

Oh The Times They Are A'changin'...

I am trying to avoid the same situation with Swift flatbed. They are moving all dedicated drivers on my account back to the Greer SC terminal. It is the terminal closest to my house but has not dispatched flatbed for a few years. I have so far successfully blocked any moves but I do not know how long that will last. My current dispatcher and I get along great and I stay busy. Not looking forward to a change. Good luck OS.

Quick Swift question

I went to Swift orientation this February with my CDL in hand. Swift will pay you for days 2 and 3 of orientation. It is not much, $50 a day I think.

Not shaving is fun after three years in the military and 10 in law enforcement. I am letting it go and grow! Hair too.

Pleased to announce...... Exam today........TRIFECTA!!!

Congratulations! Is Prime still paying a bonus for a trifecta? I think I got $250 and my instructor got $900 when I trifecta'd. I stayed with him for TnT, we got along well.

New layout for the forum

Definitely bring back the avatar photo's even if tiny. Other than that, I love the new mobile layout. Much easier to use and read after a long day. I don't have to zoom in/out now and so far navigation has been dmooth with no issues for me on my crappy iphone 4!

Plenty of parking here. Most of the non elog folks will run the 3 miles to the rest area or 4 miles to the pilot nearby.

TMC Trucking Co

TMC has a yard in Columbia as well as offering top notch training. I walked away from my career in law enforcement in the upstate of SC after ten years to drive a truck. Good luck.

1300 appointment time...it is 1510 now and here's the line...truck driver waiting in a long line of trucks

I do not mind this pickup in all honesty, at least they allow parking if one's 14 runs out.

Schism, hope all works out with the trainer. Too many people in this career stress out over things they have no control over.
