TNT with Prime mean trainer need advice

I spoke with my fleet my fleet manager because he wanted to make sure it's what I wanted to do. I went ahead and stayed with the reefer division and plan on transferring to flat bed later on down the line. Thank you for the advice, rainy. I took it before I even saw your post. embarrassed.gif Prime has been very helpful as well as patient with me even though I have been an inconvenience . They are very understanding towards new drivers like myself and I really admire how their business runs and how the staff treats their employees and new drivers. It's a great company to start a career with. They set me up in a room and I'm waiting for my next trainer. Ready and excited to get back on the road again!! I would like to thank everyone who has replied and all of the members of Trucking truth and the forum itself. I accidentally stumbled upon this forum just trying to figure out the truth of what being a truck driver is all about. And It really helped me step into this industry with confidence. I am definitely proud to be a member of Trucking truth!!thank-you-2.gif

TNT with Prime mean trainer need advice

Thank you so much, rick, Paul, and everybody!!! I just now got off with dispatch . He told me that security already informed them about the situation earlier. They already have me set up with a new trainer!!!! dancing-banana.gifdancing-dog.gifdancing.gif looks like I don't have to go through any more complications with my last trainer. He dug his own hole with his attitude. Lucky for me. Dispatch said my next trainer is a really good guy!!! I told them about being interested in flat bed just now as I haven't had the chance to call them again about it the last few days due to being kept busy as a slave even on my 30 min breaks by my last trainer . I Feel very bad about this and really don't want to be an inconvenience. however the person whom I talked to said my fleet manager was not in today and pushed me in a really nice way to just go ahead and talk to the new trainer.

TNT with Prime mean trainer need advice

Thank you so much for the offer, Brian. I'm at the terminal right now. My trainer was very angry when he found out the plan was for me to ditch him. He cussed me out and told me he gave me a bad report... I left a few things in his truck that I forgot including my medical. I asked for them after he yelled at me and he didn't want to give them to me so I had to get security. He gave security an attitude and hung up on them. Security called him back and demanded that I get my stuff out of his truck. I'm so tired and it has been exhausting. Have not slept in two days. Unfortunately, there is some kind of convention in Springfield so campus inn is full. Prime put money on my card to go to the hotel across the street but that hotel is booked too. every hotel in Springfield is booked lol!!! Going to wait one more hour until my fleet manager comes in. Hopefully this can all just go smoothly. Will keep updating.

Some of you are too nice. If anybody was treating me like that I would beat their A$$ back into last week. What is up with some of these Training horror stories. These Companies need to get a handle on things. I might understand if it was Jim Bob's Trucking with 3 trucks, but these are Big National Carriers!

Many of the "problem trainers" are either new to training or the students have not had the guts to report them. Students do not realize the companies will believe them, or they fear getting fired as a trouble maker.

In this case my trainer has just started training. I'm his second TNT student. Third student overall. His first student was PSD. He had problems with his last TNT student so hopefully I can get another trainer without any drama involved. I just talked to my fleet manager and he was more than helpful. He told me that he was going to get us a load to Springfield. So the process has already begun!! I just hope my career doesn't end because of this. I'm very stressed out about what's going to be coming up in the next few days. Rainy, will you please explain the procedure it took to get yourself hooked up with another trainer??

John...I do understand your angst. It sounds like due-process has begun. Focus on your driving and do not allow the stress of this influence your choices/decisions or compromise your focus. For the moment forget about it...and drive.

Not trying to be harsh, but at some point you gotta grow a set and stand-up for what is right and be your own advocate. Your trainer sounds like a total jack-a**, do not worry about getting fired. You deserve batter, and at the very least a shower every other day. You basically have one good shot at training and totally justified in requesting a change.

Write everything down that occurred, organize it, and have a simple plan for how you intend to present the information so you are not distracted or thrown off-track. If he (your current trainer) is in the same room with you, do not make any eye contact, stick to the facts, and maintain a professional demeanor and attitude. Let him sink his own boat, rise above him. If possible get that shower before the meeting...hopefully "stinky" hasn't "washed his self" and causes the flowers to wilt. Try your best to keep the emotion at bay and do not allow it to show. It will work itself out.

.

Oh. He started giving me showers once he saw I got sick. I've had two so far now. Im sure he was afraid of getting in trouble. So I'm all fresh and shaved now but still a little under the weather. :( He hasn't had one shower yet!!!! Ugh so gross.

In this type of situation they will find you another trainer. The FM wants to keep you on his board (not only do trainers get bonuses but FM make money off the truck miles and upgrade bonuses). Usually they will put you with a trainer that has a good reputation because they don't want you to have a bad experience.

You are NOT getting fired!!!!!! I repeat you are NOT getting fired. Prime knows accusations can go both ways and documents incidents. One negative report is probably not going to hurt either of you...but if you are his third student and his third negative report...something will be done with him. They try to re educate the trainers and give them mentors to help them improve.

Just get your stuff to campus inn... Call the FM to get you a room and then go see him. Hell probably already have a trainer lined up. U might have to be in the room a couple days but WILL get paid.

Let me know if you have any issues. U didn't say who the FM is.

John Bloomberg.. I think that's his last name. I kind of made myself sound stupid over the phone because of how nervous I was. But I'm sure he also got my point. He asked me specifically about his anger because they dealt with him before.

Thank you so much, guys!!! It's hard to make the phone call during the day. I just now had the guts to make that phone call tonight. It's been hard . It's pretty much drive and sleep. Been sick. I think it's because lack of hygiene. Night crew was more than happy to help me out. We're delivering at 90 tomorrow so that's when they told me to make the call. Hopefully all goes well. I hope my trainer doesn't have nasty things to say about me in return. He made accusations that his last student ran a family off the road when his trainee complained. I sure will keep you guys updated. Thank you so much for caring and helping out. I will sure return the favor later on as I get more exposure to the industry .

TNT with Prime mean trainer need advice

Hi! I have one goal. To get my cdl and support my family with a stable income. I trifecta'd on my test! On day 7 with TNT at Prime. Same trainer as psd. My trainer has some really bad anger issues and I'm doing my absolute best to make him happy. I'm learning rather averagely for someone who has never drove a big rig before with very little driving experience in the first place at age 22. (30,000 miles in a car )I'm going to have a breakdown though. My trainer is very controlling and cruel. I'm his third student. So he's new at teaching as well. Also has a lot of nasty things to say about his previous students. Honestly I really don't feel comfortable listening to it. Doing reefer right now and want to switch to flat bed. Haven't had a shower since I started TNT. I feel like quitting everyday because of this personality that I'm dealing with. But I know I have to work my butt off through this to be able to be on my own. I'm not sure how much I can take. I want a new trainer but I'm not sure how to approach this. I'm a kind individual and it's easy to walk all over me. Have been happily driving 11 hour shifts this whole time for experience. I love it. I have been learning mostly everything myself while just getting yelled at rather than getting taught. It seems like this guy is here for himself and his money. I mean the guy's made me cry !! I need this more than ever for me and my family and I know Prime is a great company to start out with. Please, fellow trucking truth members, I'm begging for advice on how to deal with the situation. I'm scared to call anybody at Prime because of the fear of losing this wonderful opportunity.
