Big scott

I have a friend who is interested in coming onto with cfi. He will need a refresher course due to having a CDL but no recent experience. What steps would he have to take to come aboard and was wondering what the trucks come with (apu, inverter, or fridge). Not a deal breaker but due to having had a heart attack he has to worry about diet. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Having trouble deciding.

It is 12 hr shifts with 30 min before for meeting before and after shifts. 6 days a week with no time off. If we were to get inspected the whole fleet would be put out of service. Poor maintenance program. I’m know I am probably just whining but I would rather be in Kuwait getting shot at and fixing people. Just tired

I am local right now, with commute time to get to work is about 85 hours each week. Work almost 7 days straight, I have been doing this for 1 1/2 years. I do not enjoy the job at all as it is very mundane. Ihave an opportunity to go back to regional and make some fantastic money. I am torn between the 2 opportunities. Yes I am home every night but that is for only 8 1/2 hours. If you were in my shoes what would you do. Thank you for any assistance.

Averitt- Dedicated Cracker Barrel

Do you have any info on the Cracker Barrel account?

I'm interested in more info on becoming a driver with Averitt Express on their dedicated Cracker Barrel account. I'd like to know if anyone knows anything about this company and what to expect. I spoke with a recruiter but I would much rather speak with a driver.

Averitt is a good company. I was with then for 2 years until recently getting a local job. Ask any questions and I maybe able to answer them.

I did work in supply division for Averitt, which crackle barrel is. They run reefers and do deliver to all of the crackle barrels in a region. You have one main dispatcher, but you run out of dc’s. Most of the people I have met are really nice and are in a hurry to get you out of there. I have been told the trailers are preloaded and you just have to drop and hook. Once you get to one of your delivery points, you will hand unload what you are delivering.

Furloughed from Sysco

One more thing. I can't imagine you'll be able to claim unemployment for long. Isn't a requirement for unemployment that you're actively seeking work? With a class A CDL (assuming its clean) I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem getting something else even if it pays less.

That is currently being waived in the bill that is in the house. If you are furloughed or laid off due to the virus then you are good.

How to pull my civilian driving record?

To order your WA driving record online, visit the Washington Department of Licensing website and provide: Your WA driver's license number. Your Social Security number (SSN). The type of driving record you need. Payment for the $13 fee. See the “Fees For a WA Driving Record" section below.

Washington Driving Records | DMV.ORG

Got that from a quick google search. Website is

Wish you luck.

Bump Dock Pay

I've heard the term used to mean "bumping" a trailer from one dock door to another. This could be even from one local warehouse to another. Once I did get a request: I was at one facility to deliver a load. My DM asked me to go to another place 1/2 mile away to get a repaired trailer and bring it to the main trailer yard. I made $50 for the 1/2 mile move.

Errol you are exactly correct. Once had to unhook from my trailer, move another trailer and put my trailer in the dock. That is an example of bump dock. I currently work for averitt.
