Just a down home country boy who's tried a little bit of everything under the sun.
I was a radio DJ for 13 years here in NC and in AL, and man let me tell you that was a blast. Some of the most fun and interesting times I've ever had.
I've also done a ton of sheet metal work for the industrial roofing industry until construction took a mighty leap off the tallest wall of the Grand Canyon and I was laid off.
From there I was a security guard at a rehab hospital, and going to school to handle graphic design/video/web work. Got called about a better paying job in printing.
Now I'm on the road, seeing the sites, loving out a boyhood dream!

Going over the gw, so 95 is my enemy. Atlanta is second on me. And isn't 75 just one big construction zone anymore?

Shouldn't the company supply these
At crst you don't have to have either of them... Its messed up even with high value loads we don't need them...
I had a Nintendo load a couple months ago and had to park for the night cuz Walmart wouldn't take us early and the only thing crst said was back up to a wall or pole or another truck lol... O well...
In this case I'd pop for a lock for my own sanity!

Thanks y'all. Never left a job without at least two weeks notice, although I've had jobs leave me without one! I just really enjoy my privacy. Just me, the truck, and the road. Been averaging between 2500 to 3000 a week milage, amd I've finally found a job where I'm content amd happy. This has just been worrying me the past few weeks. But that's me, just trying to keep everyone happy including me.

7 months into my rookie year and I'm loving it. However, the o/o I'm driving for (I'm still considered a Prime employee) is seemingly dead seat on me starting to train and team come april. Thing is, I really love my solo gig. I don't want to train yet. In my thoughts a year is not enough experience to train. Plus I was really looking forward to the much needed time with my son riding with me this summer. If I have to drop back to company driver I lose my dispatcher, which sucks because we get along great. The o/o is a good guy, and I know he just wants to grow his business, but I just don't know how to tell him in my heart I'm a solo guy. Thoughts?

Welcome to the club Jonathan! I'm from WNC, born and raised. And what you say about jobs there is absolutely true. I was an on air radio dj there for 10 years, worked as a supervisor in a metal shop, did car body work (mostly a hobby) and a ton of other things to make ends stretch. Finally took the plunge, went to prime in July, and now I'm proud to say I'm a rookie solo driver! It's a big change, but I think you'll really like it! Good luck!

Abandoned equipment once, eight years ago.
Prime is a good choice, at least it was for me. I know everyone has a different experience but I thoroughly enjoyed my training there. The training pay is decent, and you'll run several weeks team driving with a trainer across all 48 states so you'll get a ton of experience compared to what you had. Good luck!
