During the training phase home time was non existent but I've been solo 8 months now. I wish I could get home 4 days a month.

That's a great way to work it out Errol but I don't get any guarantee as to when I'll get to take my 34hr reset. We run on recaps unless the customer has a delay. Our loads are preloaded so it's drop and hook then head back out. I rarely am routed through OKC since most all out drops are in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois. Every now and again I'll catch a load to Nebraska but my drops run through Arkansas and Missouri before ending in Nebraska. I would appreciate it if you did post a breakdown of how you manage your run. I think I could take some of the methods you use and try to implement them in my planning.

Yes I have talked to my DM about hometime, and the reason hometime is only for your 34hr reset is because of customer demands. The account can't afford to have drivers off more than for their 34hr reset. CR England has a bunch of dedicated runs but here in the midwest there's only 4 accounts I qualify for because of my domicile. I've looked into the other accounts and they aren't any better than what I currently run.

I currently am on a dedicated account, but my DM tells me the reason hometime is so short is because of the customer demands. They can't afford to have drivers be off for more than what I currently get. When I do my 34hr reset it's usually at the drop yard or at the truck stop down the street from the shipper.

I haven't made any concrete desicions to quit. Like I said, England isn't as bas as some people try to make it out to be. I'm just looking for some advice from others that have been in my shoes.

The company itself isn't as bad as some may think. They have recently changed their pay and detention but my issue is hometime. I understand that I cant be home every weekend but when I've only been home 5 times in 9 months and each time was for 2 days(34hr reset). That's kinda sad you know. I guess all i'm really looking for is more consistent hometime so I can atleast see my wife and kids a little more. Like I said earlier I know no matter where i go I won't be home every weekend, but I would like to be home at least once a month for more than 34 hrs.

They companies i've applied for are Freymiller and Western Xpress which are based out of OKC. I haven't made any concrete decisions on quitting yet. I may try and stick it out here until my one year mark because I'm on a dedicated run that pays OK. I average about $500-650 take home every week.

I've applied at a few companies back home but haven't received any call backs. My only worry/issue would be getting home to do an interview and roadtest.

I just finished my 9 month contract with CR England and needless to say i'm ready to get away from them asap. Would you guys recommend me stay until I hit my one year or are there companies out there that will hire me with 9 months experience?
