Greg P.'s Bio

I was born and raised in Rockford, IL. Spent 9 years in the Army, serving in various places including Desert Storm. When I got out, I became a civilian police officer with several departments (on the theory that the grass is always greener). In November 2011 I was laid off after being with that police department for 6 1/2 years. Since then, I've been working as a police officer part-time and hoping that I could find another full-time position. However, I've come to realize that my age is a factor (although nobody will come right out and say that). I've always thought about trucking, although I imagined it was something I would do after retirement. Over the past several months I've researched it carefully and have come to the conclusion that I want to do it, mainly for the job security it can provide.

Millis transfer

Hey James...I don't work for Millis, but I was just recently accepted for their school, MTI. I'm deciding on a starting date right now, because I have to give notice at my current employer and tie up a few loose ends. Which of their locations are you going for school?

Restart?

Hi guys (and ladies)...I'm new to the forum but, like others, I've been reading for quite some time. I won't bore you with all my personal history here, as I put most of the important points in my profile. I'm looking at going to a company-sponsored cdl course and am currently narrowing it down. My main reason for posting right now is something I'm confused about, even after reading almost everything on the site. What exactly is the "restart" and how does it work? Maybe I would know after working through the High Road (which I plan to start doing tomorrow), but I figured I would ask after reading through all the posts on the forum.
