New driver looking for highest pay

Look into Crete carrier. I have done really well here. They do hire recent graduates. My first year I started in February and first 8 weeks was in training and I made 43,000. My second year I made 60000 and this year I’m on track for 65000 to 67000. Probably 70000 if you include profit sharing and vacation. Excellent company and they just came out with quarterly safety bonus that is a additional 2cpm so that will easy push me over 70000 for next year. Great company I will stay with as long as I’m driving.

Taking the Dog with you OTR

Yes it does add a little sense of security having a dog with me. I generally don’t feel unsafe but having my dog who goes into flip out mode if she hears anything outside the truck helps. I like to think most people up to no good don’t want to mess with a upset dog.

Taking the Dog with you OTR

Hi dan. I have been trucking with my dog for about 2 years and it’s great. She forces me to get out of the truck for walks so we both get some much needed excersize. I usually look at google earth to if I plan to stay at a shipper/reciever to see if there is any grass to walk her on to go potty and if there’s a guard shack to check I will ask if I’m ok to get her out to potty and I have had no issues. She has got spoiled due to a lot of guards keep dog treats on there shack so now she thinks any time I talk to a guard it’s treat time. Keep a towel to clean your furry friend on the rainy days and I bought her a dog rain coat on Amazon. Keep in mind if your company has idle policies you may have to keep the air running for the dog when your away from your truck showering doing laundry things of the nature. Hope this helps.

Barr nunn, marten transport or crete carrier!? :)

I’ve been with Crete 2 years now. I average 10600 miles a month. They keep me moving. Great benefits and newer trucks. Couldn’t be happier.

Who Is Going To Decorate Their Truck For The Holidays?

I use the command hooks in my truck. I use them to hang coats on back wall where there is some solid plastic. They make some small one that would easily support Xmas lights

Will reckless younger years haunt me?

Hi john m. I can't tell you with out a doubt you will be ok but what I can say is I to lived a wild life in my younger days. my last issue was in 05 and after that changed my ways and had no more problems. I was worried about getting hired but I got several prehire approvals and wound up with a great job with great company. In my opinion you will be ok. Sounds like your stuff is old enough to not effect you to bad but make sure you put everything down on app cause if the find something you didn't tell them about that could effect your chances negatively. Good luck to you.

Anyone go into Trucking from career burnout?

Yep I was burnt out. 20 years in custom wood working and cabinetry. I hung up my tool belt and nail guns and went and got the cdl. Now when I go home I go in my shop and piddle around with small projects for myself with out the pressure of deadlines. Love it.
