Need Advice About School

I went to PAM sponered school in Texas, but my situation was different had my CDL before I went to school just need the driving part. My advice to you is get your permit before you go to any sponsored school....there are free online CDL practicing testing online to practice daily before going to your State Testing CDL office. You will take General Knowledge, Combination, and Air Brakes and get your permit for 90 days to take your driving test which is more than enough time when you are in CDL School. But as for me, I was scheduled for pickup from PAM about week after graduating and they never showed up and contact a month later after I already had a Warehouse job....for me it was not an option to wait because I have bills and a mortgage to pay so I need a job now not later. So if you don't like waiting for a month then PAM is not for you. Best of luck.

Need Advice About School

RAIDER EXPRESS is an ALL AUTOMATIC FLEET And they have their own CDL A School, no cost to you. Free Room and Board. http://www.raiderexpress.com

Also Melton Truck Lines, they train you on standard/manual trucks but they have Automatic....after training you can request an Automatic. (You must have your CDL A, before applying and have attended a Certified CDL A School or have 3 months of OTR) Their whole Fleet is moving to Automatics, because a better fuel milage they are getting. https://meltontruck.com/cdlTruckDriverJobs/DriverJobs/index.php

Deflated - Celadon, Knight, Roehl Won't Take Me & Pushing Roadmasters

embarrassed.gif

They rejected me because of where I live. Mr. Aquila told me from the beginning that this might happen.

In Celadon's case, they said I needed to live in Ocala, FL or points north of that. Ocala is within 3 hours of St. Petersburg. I could've driven there.

In Knight's case, they told me they're not doing CDL training anymore and I need to go to Roadmasters Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. They hire from that school. Which means I'd have to get financing from Roadmasters' lender and go on a tuition reimbursement plan of some kind.

Roehl said they're not currently hiring for their CDL training program out of Florida. I would have to move to Alabama because that's where their closest school to me is.

The last school on my list is PAM Transport, and they're forced team for the first 6 months after training. embarrassed.gif

What I need to know right now is, have any of you gone through Roadmasters and got hired by a known, reputable company? What was your experience with them like?
