I was wondering how long it took for y'all to get a call from a recruiter. I have 3 apps in for Prime, Roehl, and Swift. Prime was 1 week ago. Does it usually take some time?

My wife and I applied at Prime Tuesday night, we got a call the next morning.

Why don't you call Prime to check on the status of your application?

I did call Prime and my recruiter didn't answer so left a message. That was 4 days ago and nothing. Should I hound them?

Didn't answer? That sounds odd.

Hey Kimberly A. ! if you filed out apps, they may be doing an initial qualification check before they respond. It doesn't hurt to e-mail and do a once a day voice mail follow-up. Good luck to you and don't lose heart, If you want it you'll have to work for it from beginning to end.

Did you do your application online? Every company I contacted through the web sent me a confirmation E-mail within an hour. Its really easy to hit the wrong button and off it goes into cyberspace, never to be seen or heard from again. Most recruiters respond to calls, its their paycheck! I would double back and confirm my apps receipt.

i heard from Prime in a few days, Roehl within the hour, and Swift the day.

But... I also subscribed to Tenstreet, the app that lets people view the status of their applications submitted to participating trucking companies. Both Prime and Swift participate.

If you would like to view the status of your applications, The app is available for both the android and iOS smart phones.

I hope all goes well in your search!

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

I got a call from Swift before I even finished the application. I do have the Ten Street app. It shows my Prime and Swift application status. Swift definitely is on top of it. My first choice was with Prime. I don't know whether to be insistent or hope for the best. I should've passed all the qualifications except my employment history. My husband wanted me to take time off to be at home and work on a home we bought. I also did some selling on eBay. That makes it 5 years since I had verifiable employment which I think might seriously hurt me with Prime. I guess my question is do I be persistent or wait? I really want to do this. I have been doing the High Road Training Program , studying, and lots of reading. Not to mention I have wanted to do this for 20 plus years so I'll do what it takes. Thank you for all of your replies. I am enjoying this forum like crazy.

Be persistent - check with them once a day, but do it first thing in the morning. You are more likely to get through at that time of day.
