You would only be working half the year. You only get paid when the truck in moving. They would have to keep you close to home, so you would have shorter runs. To maximize your gross income you need to drive. I know Rohel has all these home time plans, but think about the whole picture. There is a guy on YouTube, he drives for Millis, he says he easily gets 3000 mile weeks except the weeks he scheduled for home time. Those weeks he gets about half that. This is due to them keeping him closer to home for home time. Does all that make sense?
Roehl even says on their website the special home time schedules are mainly intended for people easing into retirement or have other income steams like military retirement.
So I know with more home Time comes less miles. However I'm curious to a realistic number a newbie could expect from a 7 on 7 off schedule?
You would probably make $15,000- 18,000 gross annually. Don't forget, you will be moving in and out of a different truck every week.
Yikes! Hopefully the same doesn't hold true when a company says you can be home weekends?
Home weekends means you keep the same truck, and if you want to run some big miles you'll need to figure out how to empty yourself out at the proper times so that you can pick up a load on Friday afternon that goes through the house and delivers on Monday morning. You'll need to understand how to babysit a load over the weekend so you can maximize your efforts.
