Brett is just trying to protect me. He knows I'm not old enough for bad words. He's guarding my eyes and ears so when I grow up I won't be like most of you guys.

HaHa!

I remember trying to attribute a quote to the great novelist Charles ****ens, and I got the same result as you did on your ****ies shirts.

I also remember you referencing that great talent, ****ie Allen of the Allman Brothers, and he got bleeped out also!

Actually, it's Dikie Betts (mispelled to beat the censor) - lead/slide guitar. One of the meanest slides on the planet, also, one of the meanest drunks to work with. I worked a tour with the DBB awhile back.

Allen Woody (RIP) was the bass player until his passing in 2000 - really NICE guy to work with. Otiel Burbridge was the last bass player for the ABB. Old friend of mine from back in the ARU days. Another great guy, and one of the most amazing bassists alive.

Me & Otiel, circa 1993.

Ha, I actually knew it was Betts - my "old timers" must have blended the names together! I remember listening to Betts play that unique bottle-neck style southern rock guitar as a young teen in the seventies. It blew me away. He has an amazing talent.

It was a joke Old School. I love this site because there always a little extra conversation and not a bunch of moaning and groaning.

Yeah, I knew you were joking, but we did veer pretty far away, and quickly too!

Di*ky lived in my neck of the woods. Use to stir up quite a bit of trouble when he was 2 sheets to the wind. Played at the alligator club occassionally. He certainly was an Olympic drinker though

Used to drive his guitar tech UP THE WALL. This ain't working, that don't sound right. Hit switches at random, was a real nightmare to deal with sometimes, compared to the guys I've tech'd for. And his tech wasn't some know-nothing slouch either - I learned a lot from him. They were out on a summer festival run I was working with a different band.

Amazed he still has a liver.

A old friend of mine, was the ABB's old road manager - I've heard stories of legendary backstage fights.

MFer can play a slide guitar though.
