Got a delivery for the first time in New Jersey at the Costco in Monroe Township. Shouldn't be too bad considering that the dc is huge. Got a preplan to get out right away too haha. I been scared to go there, but I am starting to get over it. Enjoyed the drive through the Pennsylvannia turnpike. That is one heck of a drive and the tunnels are cool. Only question is what is the speed limit on 276 and the NJ turnpike?

Gladhand...been there many times. First, drivers lounge is two porta johns with hand sanitizer. If your early for delivery they'll park you on overflow and tell you to come back at your appointment time. The overflow opens at 5 am. Parking is limited. Some park on Costco way...others will park on the off ramp after the booths. When I delivered ther I usually parked at a service area on the pike just south of the exit, then went in as close to my delivery time as feasible. If your on time they are pretty good as far as getting you in and out. don't worry o speed limits...but I think you'll find 65 mph on 276 and the pike. I assume dry van..correct? Good luck.

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

Yeah I got dry van. I was a little worried about too many people being parked in the way that I am trying to get there in the hour before delivery time frame. From reading the reviews it is a good dc just like the costco in Tracy, California.

Or chance it and head in tonight, by the time my appt is near I'll almost have 8 hrs in the sleeper. Again the worry is I won't find a spot so it will probably be better just to wait. Wish if I had more time to make it to the service area, but I only had enough to get to Carlisle, PA.

When does the turnpike start to become bumper to bumper? Usual time? Thanks for the help.

Haha, I drove through Springer on 56/412 today and wondered how you're doing. There's no traffic in Springer on Sunday.

Gladhand, that's not freaking Jersey. Try going somewhere Jersey like Elizabeth or Jersey City. You got off easy.

I was thinking the same. I get lost in Elizabeth and Newark every time I go up there...called the cops on myself one night lol

South Jersey I such better than all of those though... So I keep telling them I want more local receivers when going home lol

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I realized that as soon as I didn't hit any traffic on the way there haha. I'll gladly go back to that dc as well. Awesome place.

Ask to go to Bayonne or something to get yourself a war story. It wasn't Jersey if you wanna go back.

Im from NJ but every time I had to pick up or deliver there I always got lost, luckily the last time I was in Elizabeth, it went quite smooth, in and out nice big area for the docks, i was actually surprised, i was dreading it, lol.
