I have to go into Sacramento then down to Stockton and then down to Vernon for a delivery the following morning. A place called Papa Cantella's. 2900 E 44th st. Anybody familiar with this area and helpful advice on parking? I tried to get repowered since there was no way I could make the appt with the hours I have but DM said keep rollin' we'll get appt changed. Working out the rest of my trip plan right now and thought I'd throw a shout for any help you may have. Thanks

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Dependent on appt time I would park at wheeler ridge or park on the street near shipper. So cal is no joke when it comes to traffic. No matter weekday or weekend.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Looking on Google plenty of place to park on street near receiver. If you want to be at a truck stop wheeler ridge always has parking. There is a j and pilot south of there, but parking at the pilot that is close to San Fernando isn't guaranteed. If you got the hours I would definitely park on the street. So cal really has no truck stops beside the ta petro in ontario.

Thanks Gladhand. Some quick calculations. Haven't talked to dispatch yet as I just parked a few minutes ago and ate a quick kibble and started on this first so I would have some info on hand when I do. Ok, so right now I'm in Wamsutter, WY for my 10. I have coming back hours at 24:00 tonight of 9:23. Tomorrow night 10:06 and then the next 8:13. I figure I could make Carlin, NV. tomorrow ( 428 mi). Then Sacramento the next (470 mi) But Sacramento would be pretty much it. Stockton being another 49mi. Stockton to Vernon would require a whole days worth of hours. Am I seeing this right?

I think I will try a Trip Plan with absolutely no clue of how to do this, but let's just say I have traveled the Western US for fun and maybe I can help. I have driven I-80 many times but never to get to LA just Sacramento and San Fran , you are in a great position to take I-15 and dump more than 100 miles off the journey. Once you hit the LA Metroplex you are on your own but I would say you could cover way more miles then I-80 West then I-5 plus I think you avoid Donner and that would make anybody happy Summer or Winter. I'm I wrong, not even in Training yet!

If your stopping in Sacramento the only parking is at the 49er pilot W El Camino ave. That pilot is a pay yard $15.00 or 75 gal fill up. There is a home depot just b4 it and a few other shopping areas to park at.

If you have about an hour when you hit I 5 in Sacto. I would suggest going south to Lodi there is a Loves and I believe a Pilot there lots of parking usually.

Been to the 49er before. That's my gaol for the 19th. LA oughtta be a hoot. The Bronx was alright so maybe this won't be too bad either.
