Hey, you actually have quite a bit of time before you start class. Keep working your way through our High Road Training Program. There's a lot to learn, especially the Logbook Rules and Weight & Balance sections.
Also, if you haven't gotten any endorsements yet I would get those now. Get all of the studying and testing out of the way in the beginning so you can focus on the driving parts later on.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.
