Looking to hang up the keys on this lightweight truck (baby truck) and move into a condo.

Besides a coffee pot and fridge / cooler, what are some suggestions for "cheap" (price, not quality) appliances to help make food on the road ?

Lunchbox cooker and a crock pot. Both around $30.

Do you have an inverter? If so, and it's over 1500 watts, then maybe an electric skillet or hot plate. Both around $30-40.

Check out Cooking on the Truck and Big Truck Cooking on Facebook. They have all the info you need to get started in a rolling kitchen.

If you can have an inverter, I would spring for one of those. The 12V stuff by RoadPro are 3-4x the price of a similar 120v appliance and the heating elements tend to die within 60 days or less. I would go with a crockpot, and either an electric skillet or a hot plate. At least that is what I have for cooking stuff. Just for a price comparison. A small 120v coffee pot is $10-$15. A RoadPro 12V version is around $40.

I have a small microwave, a toaster oven and one of the little egg cookers. Those three things do just about everything I need.
