Okay my question is this. When does your 70 hour clock rest? Is it only after a 34 hour break or does it rest weekly as long as you don't use your 70 hours that week?

Only after a continuous uninterrupted 34 hours either Line 1 off duty or line 2 sleeper berth or a combination of both totalling 34 hours.

Sleeper Berth:

The portion of the tractor behind the seats which acts as the "living space" for the driver. It generally contains a bed (or bunk beds), cabinets, lights, temperature control knobs, and 12 volt plugs for power.

Rest or reset?

I think he meant reset.

The 70 hours either resets (hours back to zero) after a 34 hour break, or it is a rolling total of the last 7 days PLUS what you do today.
