Most LTL companies take very few right out of trucking school. While not impossible, call them and all the other local companies in your area. If that doesn't work, look here:
You always want a company that fits you best. For example, I'm with CFI and I love them and the choice I made. That doesn't mean they are a great fit for you. Figure out what you want. There are many things to decide on. To name a few, home time policy, type of driving, type of frieght, pay and bonuses, type of equipment, pet and rider policies. The list goes on and is different for everyone. Good luck.
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.

I don't know about your particular school or location but Averitt absolutely takes new cdl holders and we had a recruiter come to Clarksville, TN when i was in school.

Patrick, thanks bud. I ended up going to MMTC after you mentioned it here some months back. I appreciate the advice because it was a great school. I'm not sure if you had the same instructors but Joe and Roger were fantastic instructors. Even offered to let me drive just prior to leaving for orientation so I could knock the rust off. It is a shame they lost their accreditation during my class and had to shut down shop.
