You get a paper copy with your picture on it when you pass the test at DMV...Don't laminate it.

OTREscapeArtist is correct; you pass the written tests, and walk out w/a paper license that looks very much like the real thing, except it's paper.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Just a question if anyone on here has every gotten a Montana CDL permit. Do you get a temporary license the day you pass the test or do you have to wait to have it mailed?
