Thanks everyone for all the support! I have been packing my bags tonight. I pick up the rental car tomorrow and leave for Cuba Sunday morning. I may start a new thread about orientation/company training if I feel my experiences warrant it or possibly help somebody. I will at least keep you all updated on my progress.....

Congrats Deke! I’m just 2 weeks ahead of you (Ennis, Tx terminal) and go out with my trainer on Monday the 29th. I’m really happy with McElroy so far! I’m sure our paths will cross somewhere down the road.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Hi Parrot, It was wet!! Lol. All went well in orientation and first week.

I’m out with my trainer now. Spending tonight at a Lowes for a 7 a.m. delivery tomorrow morning. Picking up steel tomorrow in Tennessee for a Monday morning delivery in Alabama. I should finish this week with about 2500 miles.

I have three more weeks to go then back to Cuba for final week.

Hello All, Just stopping in for a quick update. I finished the 4 weeks with my trainer and all went well. I have been issued a truck and will run my first solo load tomorrow.

Take care and stay safe
