No doubt you've heard about the train derailment near DuPont that has I-5 SB shut down for the foreseeable future. Because of this, there are HUGE delays getting through the south sound area, especially heading south. Plan on at least an extra 2 to 4 hours of travel time in either direction, but especially heading south. The alternate routes are all two-lane highways through small towns, and traffic along them is a flat-out nightmare.

Listening to XM 146 earlier, it sounds to me like come Monday morning everything will be moving again. Well, slowly moving up there....

According to the Seattle Times all lanes are now open as of 10:00 p.m. Dec 20th.
