Are you sure transmission fluid is part of the pre-trip? I haven't heard of that.
I've got no clue. I trained on a 10-speed manual at CDL School, so obviously no dipstick to check. I figured that since my truck has an automatic transmission, I would need to check the fluid level along with the oil, coollant, etc.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
BTW you do not have an automatic transmission like in an automobile. The Freightliner tranny is an auto shift - it's really a manual with a computerized shifting system. Read the manual.
Your truck is probably not a true "automatic". Many people commonly refer to an "Autoshift" (computer assisted manual transmission as an automatic. There is actually a huge difference between an Autoshift and a true automatic.
Downloading a pdf of the manual now, thanks for the idea.

Did a Google search but couldn't find the answer. 2016 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution. First pre-trip inspection I couldn't find the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Is there a dipstick? I thought maybe it's not an automatic transmission but an automated manual transmission and that's why I can't find a dipstick that doesn't exist.
Pre-trip Inspection:
A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.
