Brett your training materials are top notch. I am nailing these test with ease and confidence. Love the training good sir. I got my CDL Permit on Friday 1st time go and cruising along with the others. Thanks for the knowledge. If all goes well I will be graduating on the 2nd of June. Thanks everyone

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

So today I went DPS and passed air brakes, pre-trip, and combination written test. Super stoked. Learned to shift the truck today, down shifting is a little tricky, but I will get the hang of that. Had a good time, even though we just were on the training track.

So I am done with CDL written tests. I passed the rest yesterday. Feels awesome. Starting working on backing today, i am amazed at how fast school is going. Is it normal to have all written tests the first three days of school? Well I am getting a good amount of actual drive time so that is awesome.

Yeah for me first four days was written stuff to get everyone to pass the test for permit. I sat there and aced every practice test because I did the High Road and already had my permit.
