A Bus Accident That Never Should Have Happened

My boss and I and another woman driver were at the Conway, Arkansas bus factory picking up two new buses that we would deliver to our Ames, Iowa office before the buses would be delivered to the Iowa school districts that ordered them. Unfortunately, the busses were never going to make it to their destination. Continue reading

Truck Driving Will Test Your Character

There are few things in the world that most people will ever do that will test your character more than driving a truck for a living. Everyone and everything from your truck driver training to your CDL examiners, the trucking companies you work for, the challenge of handling a big rig safely, the time away from family and friends, and of course the other drivers on the road will all push you to your limits sometimes – and those that survive and thrive in the trucking industry are the ones that develop the character needed out there to be safe and enjoy their career on the highways. CDL Training – Getting Ready for Test Day

Out in the yard, I did very well today. My 45 degree backing skills are getting more refined each time I do it and I’m feeling very confident about the yard all together. I did fail once today though. On my measured right turn, I just barely clipped the cone. I just touched the corner of it and it wiggled a little bit. But that’s enough for a fail. To be honest, I was really pushing my luck. I was trying a new technique and ….. Continue reading
