When you make a wrong turn onto US 119, and keep going!! The new drivers here will get road experience. I hope it’s not similiar to US 119, as I really hope you never have reason to be there.

The Long Road Back

I first went to driving school in 1995. I went from a business enviornment right to the road. I was in real estate for many years, but I am, at heart, a truck driver though, and even though I have helped get many people into their own homes, driving is what I truly enjoyed. Like many drivers, I only came off the road to try and save a failing marriage.

Cargo Theft Increasing: Highways Are Getting More Dangerous For Truckers Posted on 5 March 2010 @ 1:53 pm Truck and cargo thefts are on the rise in recent years according to a study done by Freight Watch International, a company that "actively tracks and records cargo theft activity around the globe" according to their report and website. Every year they release a report showing not only the number of cargo-related thefts, but they identify trends from year to year. The statistics are a bit scary, and getting scarier every single year. Truck Driving Down Donner Pass Posted on 4 March 2010 @ 3:40 pm Until recently, I had never actually been on Donner's Pass in California. Donners Pass is usually touted as one of the more dangerous areas for truck drivers and is the site of many fatal accidents. It's quite an experience! I had the pleasure of going through it at night. I would have liked to take it during the day so I could see some of the scenery around me, but I'm sure I'll get that chance in the future. I was still able to make some key observations though... Posted on 26 February 2010 @ 2:11 pm Outside of the driver's own performance and attitude, a truck driver's dispatcher is one of the most important factors influencing the amount of success and happiness a driver will experience at any given trucking company or truck driving job. So if you're unhappy with your load assignments, how can you tell if the problems you're experiencing are your own fault, your dispatcher's fault, or the fault of someone else within the offices at your company? There are several things you can do to find out what's really going on, and who is responsible when there is a problem.
