I have to admit there have been times, during the first 3 weeks of this experience, where I began to feel that the entire trucking industry might be orchestrated by a bunch of mad scientists conducting some kind of evil psychological experiment. We had some interesting things today, including pulling doubles, 45 degree sight-side backing, and a new instructor for the road trip.

Woe is me. Not only is truck driving school not easy, but getting a job and getting rollin in this economy is not the fastest process by any means!

Out in the yard, I did very well today. My 45 degree backing skills are getting more refined each time I do it and I’m feeling very confident about the yard all together. I did fail once today though. On my measured right turn, I just barely clipped the cone. I just touched the corner of it and it wiggled a little bit. But that’s enough for a fail. Only a couple more weeks left and I’ll be done with CDL training. Can you believe it?? I sure can’t! But I’m feeling ready. Our tentative date for the Secretary of State to come test us is February 17th, so it’s going to come up quick!
