My Best Trip in a Big Truck Yet!
Wow, so my most recent trip was by far the best trip I’ve had to date. We left California late at night and were “East Bound and Down” to Pennsylvania. Remember the plastic bottles we brought to California on my last trip? Well, now those same bottles were filled with delicious California Orange Juice. Our mission? Bring the Orange Juice to the good people of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Continue reading →
Truck Driving with a High Value Load
So the other night, we get a phone call to pick up a “High Value Load” from a pharmaceutical company. I don’t want to spell out the details of what’s involved carrying these loads for obvious reasons, but it’s a pain in the butt! Continue reading →

Greetings from the beautiful Smokey Mountains in PA! It’s a beautiful sight out here. But the trip was a bit interesting – and even a bit terrifying at times! Continue reading →

More on my First Two Weeks OTR – Including Things You Will Need With You

My First Day and Night at a Truck Stop

My First Two Weeks of OTR Training
As I said previously, you have to have patience. A sense of humor helps too! I started keeping a diary of where we went and what I did, but after a short time days and events became one long blur. Continue reading →
My First Load Driving a Big Truck
Finished up orientation on Friday and by Saturday morning, I already had a trainer waiting for me at the terminal. How cool is that!? I met up with him at 8am and had breakfast. I was glad to see that he was a really nice guy. I’ll be sharing a truck with him for about 15 weeks (longer training program than most companies), so I hope our personalities don’t clash. But so far, we’ve been getting along great. We’re finally gonna get rollin! Continue reading →

This was quite an experience! The trucking company I got hired on with gave me a confirmation number to take a Greyhound Bus about 500 miles to their main truck terminal. This is where orientation would be held. Since my last orientation … Continue reading →
