Great article Karen and I totally agree. I think this is one of those situations where MOST drivers don't make a habit out of doing this, but the few that do can surely make a mess for everyone else.

Keep up the great writing!

I agree. I also had to deal with the "emergency" potty containers, but it didn't take but less than a minute to dispose of it properly. It's just plain laziness that puts it out there where it's not supposed to be.

Good article, Karen. Glad to have you on board!

Karen
Welcome to truckingtruth and this great post. This is a problem for all to deal with and solve. I have seen 4-wheelers pass me and throw out TRASH. This left me so shocked that I was never able to get the license plate number and call it in. This event also happened as we passed a rest area!!!!! Are those few seconds to stop and use the proper containers there are problem?

So many do not care/are just lazy and that includes the truckers too. A couple of weeks with the road cleaning crew should cure their habit of tossing.

I have seen truckers whose passenger seat area is so filled with garbage that you can see it thru the little floor window and even thru the passenger window as the garbage is stacked on the seat!!! Those drivers need a lesson in cleaning and their company needs to better monitor their vehicles.

It will take all of us to get the highways/parking lots cleaned up. If the bins at the truckstops are full, tell the employees so it can be taken care of. That is a small easy step to help out.
