Sometimes it can be very difficult dealing with dispatch, and especially the load planners that are behind the dispatchers. I’ve been with my husband now on a few trips and I’ve seen some of the crap that he has to go through when dealing with certain people. I’m telling’ ya……..I guess all I can say is “WOW”.

Truck drivers, to me, deserve more because I’m watching them make it all happen by transporting freight from one point to another every day. So with that, please know that I’m praying for every one of you, and wanting the best for all of you because to me…YOU’RE ALL WORTH MORE!!!

I remember hearing truck driver’s talk about the comrodary amongst themselves. It seems like years ago. Oh yeah, it was! How they used to wave when passing by. Some still do, but the young “bucks” (newbie’s) haven’t gotten the teachings from the “old timers” that have been around the block a few times.

Being a first time truck driver’s wife, at times when my husband leaves on a trip, I’ve experienced almost every emotion there is from elation to loneliness, sadness to worry. And I’m here to let all of the first-time spouses and significant others of over the road drivers know that you’re not alone.

We received a letter from Karen Smith, the wife of a long-haul truck driver, and she asked us to publish it for her. She spent some time on the road with her husband and wanted everyone to know what she found out about truck drivers – that they deserve a lot more appreciation than they get for doing such a tough job and living such a demanding lifestyle.
