As you can see, there is much more to trucking than just driving. Helping another driver out is the way to go. FFfF

Brett: Yeah, it was definately a pain, but everything seems to be in working order now. As far as I'm concerned, that's all that matters!!

DH: Thanks for reading!! It's great to know I have a little bit of a following. The company I'm with has a very long training period, so it's going to be a while. I'm guessing about 2 more months and I'll finally be getting my own truck. I definately feel as though I could go solo at this point and probably be ok, with the exception of parking. I'm still having some trouble on that end. Luckily, I have a great trainer. So even though this is taking a long time, it's bearable and I'm still learning something new every single day.

Thanks again for reading and take care!!

I've been reading your blog since you started last winter. It's been interesting reading. I was wondering how long before you're finished with training and get your own truck? Do you think you're ready to be going solo?

Well, it's nice to see that they still must be paying diesel mechanics about $10/hour to start - so they can't find anyone dumb enough to pay $12,000 for a year of schooling and then do a very tough job for $10/hour - so every time you go to a dealership you sit for several days. We used to use the truck stops whenever possible - but with warranty work that isn't always possible. Total bummer.
