AAA CDL School

Individualized Training

AAA CDL School, owned and operated by Mr. Cesar Fernandez, offers tiered training, entirely one-on-one by appointment only, and training is completed at each student’s pace. Costs are customized for the coursework package chosen by the student. Tractor-trailer training is always one-on-one, and emphasizes safety and defensive driving. The school incorporates Computer Based Training (CBT) and Computer Simulators into their training repertoire in addition to in-vehicle and classroom work. They offer truck driver training programs for Class A CDL with or without Endorsements, and Class B CDL with Passenger only or Passenger and School Bus Endorsements. They state that 85% of AAA students pass their CDL road test on the first try, and the school aggregates job postings for students. The website is available in Spanish, and you can also follow them on Twitter @CDLTX.

Course packages available are as follows. Likelihood of passing CDL exams increases with each tier:

  • Basic: 67 hours
  • Better: 77 hours
  • Pro: 127 hours
  • Elite: 177 hours
  • Premium: 187 hours

The school also offers free online practice tests. Contact the school for information about tuition costs.

AAA CDL School is approved for funding assistance for Native Americans with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and any other tribe programs are welcome. The school also offers programs for assistance for homeless veterans and those who have been vocationally injured.

  • Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP). To qualify, you must have DD214--anything other than dishonorable; no lease or mortgage in your name; Social Security Card; driver’s license/ID; assist with training.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Program (DARS) for those who were injured on the job and people with disabilities through DARS, the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services. For more information, contact your nearest DARS office.
