About Millis Training Institute

Established in 1989, the Millis Training Institute (MTI) is a division of Millis Transfer, Inc. and is dedicated to identifying, training and developing capable individuals into professional truck drivers. The original school was founded in Georgia, and after five years of success, expanded to a second location in Ohio. Today, MTI boasts five convenient locations across the country, lead by knowledgeable and helpful staff as well as experienced and tenured instructors.

Summary

The MTI driver training program takes place over 12 weeks, with personalized, one-on-one experience for each student with a professional and tenured trainer at the helm.

Students will receive one week of classroom instruction, one week of backing maneuvers and skills practice, and one week of on the road driving with an instructor. A total of 166 hours are required to complete the course.

What Are Qualifications for Millis Training Institute admissions?

• Must be 21 years old
• Must complete DOT physical (or have a current one, not older than 2 years)
• Must be able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public
• No major accidents or moving violations on current license in the last 5 years
• Must have a minimum of a high school education

What Does the MTI Program Cost?

MTI says students have up-front costs of only $500 ... $100 deposit and $500 down. The school fronts the student with a $1,840 loan, which the graduate pays pack to MTI in weekly installments. MTI claims that graduates who work for Millis Transfer are guaranteed to earn a salary of $50,000 per year, based on running the fleet average of 115,000 miles.
