Introduction to the Commercial Truck Driving Program
at South Georgia Technical College

The SGTC Commercial Truck Driving Program is offered at two campuses: the Main Campus, and the Crisp County Center.

The Commercial Truck Driving certificate program provides basic training in the principles and skills of commercial truck operations. The program is based on the definition of a truck driver as one who operates a commercial motor vehicle of all different sizes and descriptions on all types of roads. At the completion of the program, the student is administered the Georgia CDL Skills Exam.

Entrance Requirements for the Program

Education: A high school diploma or its equivalent is required. Prospective students must be 18 years or older and have achievement of appropriate scores on the college's placement test or submission of acceptable SAT or ACT scores.
