Star Truck Driving School

Star Truck Driving School has been in business since 1992 and has graduated more than 13,000 students. Training includes both classroom and on-the-road instruction. You'll get 40 hours of classroom instruction at Star. Completing their CDL program enables you to acquire your permit, vehicle inspection (pretrip), backing skills, and road test. The school offers flexible schedules, including weekend classes and part-time programs.

What Programs Does Star Offer?

• CDL CLASS A – OTR PRO DRIVER COURSE (160 HOURS) - The OTR. Pro Driver Course provides a thorough education in tractor trailer driving. Safe driving techniques and hands-on training in the vehicle form the basis of this program. Completion of this program qualifies successful graduates to gain entry into the trucking industry as over-the-road drivers.
• CDL CLASS A – LOCAL PRO DRIVER COURSE (200 HOURS) - The Local Pro Driver Course provides an emphasis on local pickup and delivery operations, and is designed to provide comprehensive training in all facets of safe, defensive driving in demanding local traffic conditions. Students train in a wide variety of local traffic environments with an emphasis on attaining superior backing skills.
• CDL CLASS A – REGIONAL PRO DRIVER COURSE (240 HOURS) - The Regional Pro Driver Course combines the best features of the OTR and Local Courses into one program. It is designed for those individuals seeking employment opportunities as regional drivers for either truckload or less-than-truckload companies.
• CLASS B CDL COURSE (160 HOURS) - This Class B CDL course provides complete training and licensing opportunities for those individuals seeking to drive straight trucks or other single commercial vehicles.
• CLASS A UPGRADE (40 HOURS) - This course is for individuals seeking to upgrade from Class B CDL to a Class A CDL, and have the knowledge of driving a manual transmission.
• CUSTOMIZED TRAINING COURSES - Customized Training Courses are available to meet the needs of students who are seeking specialized training, and who have previously held or currently hold a Commercial Drivers License. The training is done in increments of 10 hour blocks, each block is $600.00, this is truck time.

Tuition And Financing

• Installment Program - The student pays a down payment and makes installment payments during the length of the training program. NO FINANCE CHARGES APPLY WITH THIS PLAN
• State and Federal Grants - Grants may be available for individuals who meet Federal or State guidelines, and who are also eligible to participate in STAR TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL’S Preferred Placement Program.
• Tuition Discounts - STAR TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL offers discounts off regular tuition costs if the tuition is paid in full prior to the beginning of training. Certain restrictions apply, contact an enrollment counselor for details.

Admission Requirements

You will need a permit, D.O.T. Physical, and a driving record from the Secretary of State. Star will guide you through this process step by step. All students are required by federal law to take a D.O.T. Drug test and are also subject to random drug testing while attending school.
