Thank you Anne, So far, the only issue im having is with that accident. I appreciate the input and ill research that more now that youve mentioned it

Feb of 19, I was taking my daughter to school and was involved in a minor fender bender. The woman I had hit had made an illegal turn , however, told the police officer that she was coming from a completely different direction which made it my fault. I received a citation for careless driving. I fought and argued with the officer and my insurance company but to mo avail. I was found not guilty in court and my insurance company agreed not to raise my rates so I assumed that would be the end of it. Forward a year and a couple of months later. Coved hits and I’m laid off. I decide to look into getting my cdl and driving. Nope. The accident comes back to haunt me. The first few companies I try for paid cdl training denies me. Disappointed, I let it go and take a job here and there . Now, I really want to pursue this again but don’t know how to go about doing it. Thoughts and advice please. Thank you

John;

Is there any chance that your location (Daytona Beach, FL) could be a contributing factor to some companies declining you? Florida is not the easiest state to get hired from, due to lack of freight out. We've seen this often, here at TT.

Just wondering out loud, and wishing you well on your quest~!!

So far, none of the companies ive spoken with are not concerned with petty tickets. People do get pulled for no reason more than you think.

Thank you- i appreciate the good advice

If you were found not guilty go back and get an abstract of judgement go to dmv and have them take it off your record

Going to ask another question along the same topic. I have to list the tickets I’ve received in the past x amount of years on my apps and I’ve had a few . All for either not having my license on me or failing to show proof of insurance. ( I’ve always had insurance ) I never took these tickets seriously because they’re only a $10 fine. Now that I’m listing all of these tickets, seems a little more than petty. Are potential employers going to take this serious or should I not worry about it? If anything , It may show a lack of responsibility . Thank you

You can use this link to Apply For Paid CDL Training. Fill out one application and it will be sent to numerous companies. Unfortunately with that accident being less than a year many companies will pass. Fortunately the citation was tossed or that would have made it far more difficult.

The accident will be 2 years next month but I think it’s all the same for most companies within 3 years. I appreciate the response and I will keep applying.
