Surry did not mean to come off that way. I have had my fitting for the contacts and will get them. Below is maybe a better way of asking.

The doctor was a chiropractor, that the private trucking school had come in. He would only take cash and when he mentioned the test he started he could do it for 250 cash. Is this normal?

I researched at the state level for CDL guidelines on sleep apnea testing and could find nothing starting that with me talking a test years ago that I would have to take another.

I have already checked with sentra about setting it up. Thank you!!

Not sure of a way to find a driver friendly doctor that would notice that my vision in my right eye is 20/20 and the contacts are coming

That's sort of an awkward way of putting that. You aren't allowed to "doctor shop" until you find someone to pass you. Trucking is a safety sensitive position. The standards are in place for reasons we might not always agree with, but we abide by them or we take up our toys and go home. To pass the physical you must have 20/40 in both eyes. As long as it is corrected you are good, but you can't expect them to pass you by telling them "the contacts are coming as soon as I can save the dough." The doctor you saw noticed that the right eye was 20/20, but that does not authorize them to pass you. Both eyes must meet that 20/40 standard.

You've had a little set back. You certainly aren't the first. Take care of it and get yourself back in the game. It's one of many things you will overcome on your path to becoming an American Truck Driver. It's all worth the effort.

Paid local school. I posted a better ask below.

Hello, I started school and when the doctor came in I was failed because of my vision in my left eye is not 20/40. Also that I had a sleep test 13 years ago and was told, that I did not have to use a machine my level was near the need one stage. Going to cost a in grand for contacts to fix vision, but have to save up. The CPAP thing I question, because he noted that her had a home test kit that he would say me up with for 250.00. Sounds fishy to me. Not sure of a way to find a driver friendly doctor that would notice that my vision in my right eye is 20/20 and the contacts are coming and the CPAP thing is not needed. Not trying to dodge the vision but need to make some money to pay for it. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Any guidance would be great. Chris

Is this a paid / local school, or company sponsored training?

Welcome to Trucking Truth, also!

Sorry, I did not mean to sound that way. The contacts I have already had my fitting appointment and have to get the money to order them. Below is a more accurate statement.
