What will the future of automated trucking look like?

Do you think there will still be places for humans to get into the business? I'm just looking to start trucking and I know it won't be coming too fast for me to make money, and nobody really knows yet but maybe some of you with more knowledge and experience may be able to speculate

Should I bother going to a paid CDL school VS company sponsored training?

I'd like to hope that I could get a CDL without an obligation to a company and hope I can get a local or regional job with just a CDL and no experience but I know most likely I'll have to do a year of OTR, would I just end up doing company training all over again if I were to pay for a CDL school?
