Salt lake to Cheyenne lots of drop and hook. Day 5 with an automatic transmission and it is making more sense to me. But good god the entire state of Wyoming is under construction, what gives?!!

Keep reaching out. You have helped many people, in turn you will receive the help you need now. You have people in your corner.

Finished my first run. Drop and hook on both ends. We have today off so I will be doing laundry and napping. I might even be able to get home. The trickiest part is that my parents are in assisted living and I am POA, dealing with insurance companies from on the road—Grrr, timing is tricky, company is on Central time, I am in Mountain time, mom and dad are in Pacific, and insurance company is in Eastern time—Grrr

Update for today. I am going to be flown back to Utah from Nebraska. It looks like I will be training with a home daily Net-Ops driver. Okay it is what it is, it’s a midnight to noon shift. Hoping to make it positive, in a hotel room every day for training, it’s about a 100 mile commute from home. So weekends home will be okay.

Monday. Still waiting in Omaha. My big decision today is what time to do laundry. We get lunch only at the hotel, the ‘Rona’ stopped breakfast from being a thing. Saturday I spent about 2 hours just riding around with the shuttle driver.

I’m going to be on a Western regional dry van. Claimed to be 70% drop and hook, Bi-weekly home time. We are waiting at the Home Towne Lodge for a trainer. I know that the more “picky” I am the longer it could take to get out of here, but I am hoping for a positive experience. The KW’s seem less touchy than the FL’s, we were backing up a slight incline, so even a manual might have needed a touch of throttle. See y’all on the road soon.

Orientation is over. Now I am waiting in a hotel in Omaha for a trainer to become available. Today was my first attempt to back a truck with an automatic transmission. I don’t know what to do with my left foot.
