Hello, I have a 1 ton pickup truck and am thinking of upgrading my trailer. It would put me over the 26,000 lbs GVWR. I have my class A CDL so I am able to legally operate it. My question is about keeping track of logging. I won't be driving the truck 100% in combination with a trailer. Just driving the pickup truck alone doesn't meet the requirement to even need a CDL. How do I log my trips? If I only log my trips when I'm towing and I don't log when I'm not towing, my log book will show big gaps in millage and time and I bet the weigh station wouldn't like that when inspected. The truck is newer than 2000 so would it require an ELD? Thanks for the help.
