Wilson VS Veriha: Any Advice?

Yeah! Luckily my family is super helpful and supportive.

Do you have a plan in place for where your dog will be cared for and by whom while you are in training? Won't be able to have your dog with you until you are in your own truck.

Wilson VS Veriha: Any Advice?

Thank you!! I appreciate all the info. I’ve actually been very engaged on this site for the last month doing research before I made this account to post this question. I’ve checked out just about everything you just said!

That’s interesting about Averitt tho! I’ll have to check it out. I’m not specifically interested in music by any means. I’m actually interested in OTR solo driving… provided that I have my dog. 😂

I actually already live out of my truck (RAM 1500, nothing crazy) for the last 4 months after leaving LA. Not a necessity, just a preference. I’d rather camp and look at the stars with my dog and audiobooks than pay rent when all I want to do is see more of the country on the road.

Totally, and thank you. I have been doing that, but most of what I see with Veriha is complicated mixed reviews from people only in the training process 2+ years ago. I’m really searching for up-to-date info from current (post-training) drivers with the company if that’s possible.

Lord knows a lot has changed in the last few years overall, and I’ve heard about a lot of trucking companies changing things.

Howdy, and welcome to TT !!

I'm on my phone doing this . . . so I might not be as 'chatty' as usual, BUT....... we really DON'T have many Veriha grads on here. Did you look at our starter pack, though?

Also . . . MANY companies take pets. I have a Pittie (mix, haha!) so I get you there. He doesn't 'ride' w/'daddy' but he wants to!

You should try THIS link: Apply For Paid CDL Training

Best wishes; stick around & ask away!

ps: Have you looked into Averitt? They DO have a 'touring' division. Music, et al.

pps: I just mirrored Rob T.'s suggestion..oops!

Wilson VS Veriha: Any Advice?

Wilson is a go once I get my permit/physical. (I’m traveling until just around Christmas when I can test in my home/licensed state.)

Veriha is advising I wait to apply until December as I’ll have to redo my app every 30 days if I can’t get the permit/physical in time to started scheduled classes!

Have you applied and been accepted to both companies?

Often times people hear about a truck driver shortage and just expect to be hired wherever they want. We've seen it play out numerous times here where people aren't accepted by their first or even second choice. It could be a variety of reasons why. I'd suggest you Apply For Paid CDL Training and then decide what's best for you based on who offers you a spot.

Wilson VS Veriha: Any Advice?

Hey, y’all!

I just decided to leave my current industry (self-employed entertainment) to truck. It’s been a fantasy for a while, many family members have been in trucking, and the lifestyle greatly appeals. I already drive all over the country, enjoy my travels and alone time, etc…

I’ve narrowed my choices down to Veriha and Wilson Log, based on location, paid/free CDL training, and a liberal pet policy. (My dog comes everywhere with me, and I’m not willing to give that up… except for training and all that, of course.)

I can’t find much info on Veriha, but what I am finding is very mixed reviews. However, Wilson seems to have great driver feedback. I want to give Veriha a good consideration before making my final decision, so any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
