Just pulling a 53' van north to Wyoming, across I80 to SLC. I've chained up and downmany times and driven in some serious Wyoming winter weather, so I have some really great experience, now.

Great to see you, too!
I've been on a dedicated route for two years. I drive from Denver to Salt Lake at night, take my 10, drive back the next night, take my 10hrs, then do it all over again.
It's been a nice, relatively low stress position that I needed, to recover from all the bad ju-ju with Old Dominion.
Now, I have 4 years under my belt with the last two of those years with a clean, accident free record.

Hi Everyone!
I've been gone awhile, but I'm still trucking. How's everyone been?
I've recommended two friends to this forum in the last month, so I'm hoping to see them here, too.
I've missed you all!

ChickieMonster, you are awesome. Thank you for everything.
My company is going to fly me in to Houston from Denver. I will drive my company's tractor from the terminal, there. I will see how that goes and let everyone know. Tonight, my boss said there was a lot of planning going on and I didn't hear of plans to stop the operation, so as far as I know, I'll still be going, too.
I will definitely stock up on fluids and food, if I am able to check those through on the flight. If I can take my electric, plug-in cooler for the cab, I'm going to do that too. No kidding. I'll box and tape it up, if need be.
Thank you so much,

Public service announcement!!!
Condition of the chains: no more than 3 horizontal "ladder rungs" broken on any single-set chain.
You must have at least two drive tires chained when the chain law is up. I use the front two drives of my twin screw.
The mile markers and laws can change hourly during a storm, but generally, have chains ready in your tractor between C-470 and Utah, traveling in either direction, on I-70.

THANK you, ChickieMonster! That's great intel. I appreciate it. I don't know what I'll be doing/hauling but I know, if I'm still going, I'll be working for an oil company.
I haven't heard from my boss since last night and he doesn't know any more than I.
It's all up in the air, right now.
Wait... Text came in...
Ok.... The remaining water is causing issues. Tuesday, Wednesday, or later.
Despite what you've told me, I still want to go.

Nah, Linden. Just learn your skills. I'm only going because my board of directors members (my kids) have dad-time and I'm at a point where I think my skills will be of help, not hindrance. I also trust my company and my current level of experience.
Thanks, Old School. It will be cool to be part of the recovery. I want to help. I'll keep you all updated as best I can and send back as much learning and info as I'm able.
