Diverticulitis

About as accurate as you can get with a CT Scan and IV contrast. Lights your guts up like a Christmas tree on the scanner.

And yessir, I do feel fine today although tired :-)

Doctor diagnosed and how confident that's an accurate diagnosis?

Have any of you experienced this? I am sidelined until Tuesday. Got a follow up with the PCP on Monday. I know things will be okay. Just wondering if anyone else has fallen ill from this?

Why Does This Crazy Stuff Keep Happening To Me?

Some of those dudes have a problem early on distinguishing between gross and net. I just smile and nod because I know profit margins and they're very tight! I figure experience in time will provide the lessons that are needed

C.R. England Nightmare Experience (True Story, Need Help! Nondrug User Tested Positive!)

Congratulations on getting past this obstacle. Now the real fun starts.

I have a friend who used to drive. I was talking to him. He started joking with me. He said, your job is easy. All you do is sit behind a wheel and go from place to place.

Best of luck to you!

Did I just lose my job

I am very new too. I made an error under similar circumstances. Tired towards the end of the day etc. It happens! I was pretty upset when it happened not so worried about it now. Just make the mental note careful and slow down towards the end of the day. I find when I'm tired I have to be very deliberate and careful about my decisions. Stuff can happen in the rig pretty quickly. The other place where I am overly cautious and try to be hyper aware is the hell known as truck stops.

The “Knock on the door”

I try hard to park at a consignee. The parking issue is a pain in the ass.

Just got done reading an article about truck parking in lack of it. I guess some legislatures are taking notice and trying to help. Unfortunately it's going to be a long time before we see any improvement.

Edema problem in my leg

Excellent suggestion. Compression stockings are the other recommendation. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have a discussion with your physician about taking a baby aspirin every day.

You might want to get it checked Deep vein thrombosis and truck drivers I went through this

Driving Mountain Grades with an auto trans

Turns out this is fairly easy. I've traveled through Wyoming into Utah and then through Northern Nevada on 80. There were some pretty good grades. The truck handled it fine. I used the Jake to modulate the speed. I kept it pretty slow because I'm so new at driving. I think it is wise to be cautious at this point.

I can pin it in 10th if need be and use the Jake's. Any other suggestions?

Autos aren't too bad in the mountains. If you are running your Jake's then it won't upshift until you apply pedal again. You will want to learn where your optimal shift points for maintaining speed on a grade vs the economy shift points most companies use. And most importantly learn how to lock it in manual mode.

The topic says it all. Tomorrow I will be facing some pretty steep grades. I would enjoy hearing from The experience drivers about how to deal with that.

Very unsure right now about how automatics handle on the steeper grades.

Hauling some machinery to one of the mines in Northern Nevada. Right now I am east of Kansas City. Shouldn't see too much today.

Once again I'd appreciate hearing a little bit of advice. I am driving a 3-year-old peterbilt.
