Owner operator advice

I'm currently a real estate investor and I'm looking into starting a trucking company. I have a CDL and currently working for a company for the past 3 month so far. I'm learning a lot about the industry but I need some guidance on getting my first truck running. I plan on buying a truck, hiring a driver and leasing with Schneider National since they have a lot of loads and allow you to pick which one. I got a quote from Progressive for about $4,000 a month which is ridiculous based out of New Jersey. I want to have my own authority but the insurance is killing me since I don't have at least 2 years experience which most companies are looking for to insure you.

The truck that I have in mind is a freightliner or a Volvo automatics 2011 or older. What kind of engine should I look out for?

Do I have the driver as a 1099 or W2? Please explain your choice.

Apart from Schneider or JB hunt, where can I get some good consistent loads from in the northeast?

What would be a good roadside service so when the truck breaks down?

What should be the starting pay for the driver and also when do I give him or her a raise? I heard paying the driver a percentage is the best way to go.

If you can provide more info, it will be appreciated.

Can I sue?

So basically an idiot manager at work broke the bumper of my truck and I got in trouble and they put a preventable damaged equipment accident on my DAC report! I'm in the process of fighting this nonsense but since it's one of those mega companies I don't think I will win from what I heard from other drivers. Can I sue this garbage safety manager for what he did and for ruining my trucking work history? He did get into more trouble than I did but I want to take legal actions for the stupidity that he did. He broke the bumper by doing something that he wasn't supposed to do! Now, if I go to another company they're going to see that I "damaged the equipment" on my DAC!

Preventable accident on DAC report

So I have a preventable accident on file for the company that I work for something that wasn't my fault! I share the truck with another driver and he left the truck in a giant puddle in the company's yard. When I started my shift and tried to move the truck forward it was stuck in the mud. The company safety manager who was in the yard decided to help me by using a chain and his pick up truck. while he was pulling me out, he broke the bumper of the truck. He got into a huge trouble but also they determined that I have " Damaged equipment preventable accident" I'm a new driver with about a month experience and this is unfair that I get this stuff on my record. The company sent me a letter saying that it was reported to the DAC report and will stay there for 7 years.

What can I do to dispute this? I didn't leave the truck in the mud or tell the safety manager to pull me out. Since it's going on my DAC report I'm concerned about applying to other companies since they are going to see this crap on my record. I have witnesses and even the safety manager saying that It wasn't my fault but the company has closed the file as a preventable accident! This is complete BS..
