Confirmation of Western Express details?

Hey all, I spoke with the recruiter at western express.

However I would like to confirm what he said with any western express drivers here because you guys wouldn’t lie to me right lol.

Can any Western Express drivers confirm this information:

- Western Express Pay is .42 CPM but any load over 600 miles is .34 CPM.

- Anything after 2000 miles is .50 CPM

- After 3 months, driver pay increases to .50 CPM (Regional) and .46 CPM (OTR) which is experienced driver pay.

- Also, I forgot to ask but after 3 months and I begin to make experienced driver pay, is their still a sliding pay scale? Meaning if the load is over 600 miles I still get less CPM?

Hiring freezes?

Hey all, I was convincing a buddy of mine to get his CDL but he stumped me when he asked “Is their ever a time where truck companies have hiring freezes”?

Is their a time that happens every now and then?

Are Companies hiring students?

I am a CDL Instructor at Prime and just received new students. I have more coming in a couple weeks. So yes, they are hiring, however, they have slowed down the hiring numbers. Getting in may be harder than before

Thanks for the info Kearsey! Prime give any reason for the slowdown?

Also, what do ya think of this recession coming up?

I’m hearing a lot about food shortages and was wondering how that’s affecting companies like Prime and such whose main source is grocery loads?

Has it affected any of you reefer drivers at all?

Prime inc pros and cons?

Hey all, I already got my CDL (no experience) and I think Prime inc has the best training program from what I understand.

Just wanted to know from new and seasoned drivers who worked for them, is their anything I should be aware of (that the recruiters may neglect to tell me)?

Any pros and cons you guys know of would be great. Could just be simple tips if any.

Trucking Pay Big?

Thanks for the reply!

Yep I’m a new trucker (early 20’s) looking to increase my income. Any tips?

It's not really different for Truckers than it is for other professions. For some this is a 2nd career, or perhaps they inherited money and chose to invest in real estate. You also have some O/O that may believe the revenue to the truck is their profit and spending all that without keeping anything to keep them afloat when things get bad.

Just look at how some people are able to survive comfortably off 40k a year. Then you have some that make over 100k and are "credit card rich". Sure they may have a really nice home but may also be 50k in credit card debt, and owe more on vehicles and home than its worth now.

Are you currently a driver looking to improve your income?
