Just beginning the driving adventure, after 15 years in a factory.
4/14/14- I start CDL school a week from today (4/21/14); at Premier CDL School in Granite City, IL
4/23/14- Took the General Knowledge, Combinations, & Air Brakes. Passed all three on the first try (aced the Air Brakes test) & received my permit by the State of Illinois for Class A - CDL. Couldn't have done it without the resources contained on this site and the corresponding Android App. I recommend both!

New to the Industry
Greetings all,
This journey I find myself in began last July, when I snapped at the factory I worked at, after dealing with all the B.S. for 15 years and having nothing to show for it. The Question: "What can a person like myself do to make more money, with only a high school diploma?" The Answer: "Drive truck". So the adventure began, so after checking around, I found a school and learned what I needed to know to get the ball rolling, but had to wait until April 1st to get the loan. I went with a loan instead of company sponsored/paid training, as I figured it would open more and better paying options once I was completed with school. So in September, I got the CDL handbook and after reading the thing three times over, I found this website and did it again. I even downloaded the Android App, so I could study at work, by taking the quizzes. I have since started school, passed my written tests today with flying colors (all three on the first try), which I was rewarded with a permit. Once I get finished with the school and land a driving position that fits me, my journey will be far from over, as I figure that's when the real work begins. I'm ready to begin paying my dues, by doing the work, and I'm not asking a lot out of my instructors, except "Learn Me".
A big THANKS to the website for providing helpful learning tools! I recommend it too all who are seriously thinking about becoming a driver.
