Got my CDL permit today
Congratulations on starting your new career. Once you gain experience and keep a clean record with passing inspections your value will go up in the industry. After about a year or two, you will be able to work local with most businesses. This will give you more time with the family. Just remember never to let your guard down or become complacent. Driving a truck is a huge responsibility and can be very dangerous since we share the road with those who have no training. It is not a job, it is a lifestyle that can take some getting use to. Keep in mind that trip planing is paramount. Always check the weather and road conditions along your route before you start your day. This will make the time smoother and more productive.
